ROPP_PP data files for release version v10.0

This directory contains a collection of data files used by ROPP_PP.

MSIS_coeff.nc           - a netCDF format file containing Spherical harmonic
                          coefficients  for MSIS climatology refractivity and
                          bending angle data. The  contents of this file are
                          used as part of the ionospheric  correction of bending
                          angle profiles (called from subroutine
                          ropp_pp_model_refrac).

BAROCLIM_coeff.nc       - a netCDF format file containing BAROCLIM zonal
                          harmonic  and Chebychev coefficients. The contents of
                          this file are  used as part of the ionospheric
                          correction of bending angle  profiles (called from
                          subroutine ropp_pp_model_refrac).

ropp_pp_test.nc         - a netCDF format file containing radio occultation
                          data used by the ropp_pp test routines in directory
                          tests.

ropp_pp_grasrs_test.nc  - contains GRAS raw sampling data in a format suitable
                          for testing ropp_pp_grasrs2ropp.

ropp_pp_test_gnos.nc    - contains example data from the GNOS instrument on
                          FY-3C.

CASE_12_ref1d.nc        - contains 1D refractivity profile for case 12 of the
                          'standard' 55 cases. Input to to ropp_pp_wopt_tool.

CASE_12_ref2d.nc        - contains 2D refractivity slice for case 12 of the
                          'standard' 55 cases. Input to to ropp_pp_wopt_2D_tool.
                          CASE_12_ref1d.nc is the central profile of CASE_12_ref2d.nc.
                          (Note that the original 121-profile slice has been
                          thinned by a factor of 4 in the horizontal to generate
                          CASE_12_ref2d.nc, to save space.)

There are also various reference files, which contain the results of running the
automatic tests of the various ropp_pp tools on a standard compiler, usually
ifort.  The results of newly built code are then tested against these.
